Now What

"I wonder if anyone realizes that these papers have been blank for three weeks..."

So, baseball season is done. Over. Finished. No more Sox and Cubs until Spring Training next year in, well, the SPRING. Hockey and Basketball aren't my thing, and haven't really started yet anyways.

That's a ways away! With the Bears only playing once a week (as ordained by the NFL - we could totally go for 3 or 4 a week), we've gotta find something else to obsess over. We all know the Bears are amazing and going to win the Super Bowl - it's not even worth discussing at this point.

Here is some suggested daytime viewing material to tide you over during the week:

#1. Sanford and Son

#2. Air Bud 3: Euthanize The Court

#3. Judge Judy

#4. Judge Mathis

#5. Judge Mathis doing Judge Judy (PPV only)

#6. The oddly named "ABC World News at 3:18 PM"

#7. Cartoons

#8. Slightly more racist cartoons that they don't show anymore, but are totally much funnier than the crap on right now (where the hell is Speedy Gonzalez?!)

#9. Your neighbor taking a dump with the window open

#10. Softball SLAM on CSN (the commercials make it worth it)

Seriously, I don't know what I'll do if the Bears don't make the playoffs. The months leading up to the pain are just too much!

Nothing Happened

Nothing exciting happened yesterday. Ditka seemed to be taking a different set of meds in the broadcast booth (which apparently caused him to forget that the commercials outrank the commentary), and Aaron Rodgers has a huge fucking schnozz.

Not kidding. His nose is ridiculous. This is the best picture that I could find, but there's no way that does it justice. If you didn't see it during the post-game interview, take this picture and then draw a much bigger nose on it. That should give you a better idea. Seriously - wait until they do another post-game interview with him. I think he has a nasal chubby or whatever the equivalent is.

Exciting Chicago Bears News

Yeah, not a whole lot going on for the Bears right now. We're playing the 49ers tonight in preseason (which will be an epic battle between the 2 worst offensive teams of all time) and here are few things to watch, assuming you don't gauge your eyes out watching Kyle Orton go 15 for 20 for about 16 yards.

1) Kevin Jones.

KJ used to be a stud on the Lions until he got turf toe, broke his foot, had a few concussions and then destroyed his knee. It will be interesting to see if he's still limited and where he is in overall conditioning. If he's 100%, he can be absolutely dominant (and I am NOT sold on Forte, so this is good news).

2) Rex.

This is the first time in his career that he's been healthy and not the projected starter. It will be interesting to see how he handles himself and if the reduced pressure actually helps his game. I've never seen a quarterback so heavily affected by mental/emotional issues.

3) The D.

We gave up a lot of yards and some points to the Chiefs (ugh) and considering we have an elite group of talent at full strength (Urlacher, Briggs, Harris, Mike Brown, etc) I would be shocked if any of the niners QB's can complete a pass. However, Frank Gore has historically ripped us a new a-hole and this is a good opportunity to raise his fantasy status (teetering on RB 6).

Personally, I'll be watching Matt Forte. If this kid shows some flashes against a decent niner defense, we can all relax a little bit... I love armchair scouting btw:
