According to an ESPN report (they do reporting?), Sosa has decided to take his antique roadshow somewhere else this season to get more playing time. This is, of course, impossible. Sosa has already played for two of the three teams willing to overpay for a piece of cured meat (Orioles, Texas, Oakland), and the A's are more interested in Bonds.
Sosa actually put together a pseudo productive year in 07, notching 21 HR and 92 RBI. That's more than I can say for most 40-year-olds. It must be mentioned, though, that he accomplished this feat with a .252 AVG and pathetic .311 OBP, while striking out in at least 30% of his at-bats. Classic Sosa.
